Suit Seeking IGP’s Removal Suffers Setback

The suit seeking the removal of the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu from office has suffered a setback due to an irregular service of originating processes on the Nigerian Police Council who is listed as the fourth defendant in the matter.

At the resumed sitting, the plaintiff’s counsel, Ugochukwu Ezekiel informed the court that counsel to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Attorney General of the Federation served a counter-affidavit on him in court, wherein they raised objection to the jurisdiction of the court to hear the matter.

The trial judge, Justice Ahmed Mohammed however noticed that there was no legal representation for the Nigeria Police Council listed as the fourth defendant.
